Last year 2015, Sierraloaded kick started the 20 Hottest Artiste List. And this year, we’re back again!

We’re fully in the last month of the year 2016, and within the time span of January 2016 and December 2016, several new artists have made their entrance into the Sierra Leonean music scene.

Some have made a lot of noise with their music, but only a handful of artists really had us putting their songs on repeat, making noise when a song came on and made serious impact between the aforementioned time period.

In the last 10-12 months, we’ve witnessed the growth of several superstars with hit songs, tours, endorsements and more.

Compiled by Sierraloaded team, the list is a true, undiluted run down of the Artists that shaped, defined and led music among Sierra Leonean consumers throughout the year. It encompasses those with the hottest songs, endorsements, tours, record deals, mega moves on the local and international scene, the award winners, and in general, the people we’ve listened and danced to for the past 12 months..

16.  KrackTwist & Samza

Nothing reads more apt than two talented artists who are re-positioning the art of vivid rap storytelling in Sierra Leonean music and vice-versa. The duo who has given us classical singles like ‘Same Life’, ‘Pa Alaki’, and many more this year, but their history together predates the said project.

It is no doubt KrackTwist and Samza is the biggest revelation of the year 2016. Their collaborative efforts have made them consistent “Chart toppers” for several weeks between the end of 2015 and late 2016 (albeit on and off).

Their consistent musical efforts has also seen them pull out some few singles in 2016 like “Warning”, “Fling Hand Dance” and “Pekito”. Its little surprise they earned a performance at the Tekno Live in Freetown show.

In terms of Performance, KrackTwist and Samza has acclaimed commercial success with over 3 sold out shows this year. They’ve also shared the same stage with the likes of Drizilik, Yung Sal, Empress Pee, Xzu-B and Prodigy.

The lads are definitely one for the present and the future if consistency becomes their watchword in 2017. While we await more from them next year, they currently sit at #16 in the Hottest Artists in Sierra Leone 2016.
