Last year 2015, Sierraloaded kick started the 20 Hottest Artiste List. And this year, we’re back again!
We’re fully in the last month of the year 2016, and within the time span of January 2016 and December 2016, several new artists have made their entrance into the Sierra Leonean music scene.
Some have made a lot of noise with their music, but only a handful of artists really had us putting their songs on repeat, making noise when a song came on and made serious impact between the aforementioned time period.
In the last 10-12 months, we’ve witnessed the growth of several superstars with hit songs, tours, endorsements and more.
Compiled by Sierraloaded team, the list is a true, undiluted run down of the Artists that shaped, defined and led music among Sierra Leonean consumers throughout the year. It encompasses those with the hottest songs, endorsements, tours, record deals, mega moves on the local and international scene, the award winners, and in general, the people we’ve listened and danced to for the past 12 months..
Be sure to continue refreshing your Sierraloaded homepage to see who’s next.
17. Empress Pee
Empress Pee debuts on #TheList at #17! The Reems Entertainment hotshot has been bubbling under the radar ever since She got into the scene. Fast-forward to 2016, She’s now one of the highly rated new school acts in the industry.
Empress boomed us with a bang in the late part of 2015 when She released the octane number, “Boom Bam Boom” which caused a dance frenzy across the entity. As if that was not enough, She released the video in the second month of 2016 leaving the frenzy trend much beyond imaginations.
What more could be expected from an hardcore rapper turned Afrobeat singer whose first single was blazing the charts in just weeks of release. She featured in several radio interviews and graced many concerts in the UK before the announcement of her debut “Greenlight” album.
In September, Empress Pee teamed up with “Red Borbor” to release a follow up single “Michelle & Obama”, which didn’t exactly hit those dizzy heights like “Boom Bam Boom”, but is still considered a hit.
Her remarkable start has earned her several collaborations with prominent artistes in Sierra Leone. Her presence has also been felt across stages in Freetown and environs. All in all, Empress Pee has had a very good year. With the Reems Entertainment first lady set to release her much anticipated debut album, a few more classic hits will surely give her a blistering end to the year 2016.
