Last year 2015, Sierraloaded kick started the 20 Hottest Artiste List. And this year, we’re back again!
We’re fully in the last month of the year 2016, and within the time span of January 2016 and December 2016, several new artists have made their entrance into the Sierra Leonean music scene.
Some have made a lot of noise with their music, but only a handful of artists really had us putting their songs on repeat, making noise when a song came on and made serious impact between the aforementioned time period.
In the last 10-12 months, we’ve witnessed the growth of several superstars with hit songs, tours, endorsements and more.
Compiled by Sierraloaded team, the list is a true, undiluted run down of the Artists that shaped, defined and led music among Sierra Leonean consumers throughout the year. It encompasses those with the hottest songs, endorsements, tours, record deals, mega moves on the local and international scene, the award winners, and in general, the people we’ve listened and danced to for the past 12 months..
Be sure to continue refreshing your Sierraloaded homepage to see who’s next.
Some call him the “Baddest”, some call him, “The Baddest Boy”, or whatever you call him, one thing’s for sure: this young man makes classic music.
Innocent solidifies his presence in our annual Hottest Artiste’s list for the second consecutive year after at least, a commendable 2016.
Innocent started the year on a mad high, with his 2015 released “Love Letter” still getting massive airplays and downloads across sites and media stations.
In early 2016, Innocent released “Baddest Boy” and “Da Title” as follow up to show “Love Letter” was no fluke. The songs further showed us his romantic and emotional side. He did nothing much since then until April when a unreleased leaked single believed to have been sang by the versatile singer spread across WhatsApp group. Reactions trailed the controversial single where Innocent purportedly likened President Koroma to the animal leader in the novel Animal Farm.
Innocent also featured in several collaborations including “Follow Me” by Step Q. Although the money making machine (MMM) Records singer dropped from #17 in #TheList2015 to #20 this year, it not bad to say after all that He had an impressive year. Hopefully, things pick up for the young and talented lad in 2017.
