On Tuesday 29th March 2016, at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 2 on Siaka Stevens Street, Magistrate Albert Moody discharged Edward Pieh, a student of Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, for want of prosecution.
The accused was charged with sexual harassment and other related charges which were contrary to the Domestic Violence Act of 2007.
According to the police file, it was alleged that the accused on the 17th December 2015, sexually harassed, verbally and physically abused the victim, Amanita Kamara. The Magistrate discharged the matter for failure of the prosecution to further prosecute the matter.
In another matter of sexual penetration, the said Magistrate on the same date discharged 41 year old Jusu Kallon for want of prosecution. It was alleged that the accused sexually penetrated a seven old child.
The Magistrate took this decision after he has adjourned the matter ten times without any appearance of the complainant or other prosecution witnesses in court.
