The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Sports in Februay this year allocated over two hundred million Leones to the SLFA seven man working committee to start their work effectively in the countrry.

According to one membr of the committee, Hon. David Soriba, President Koroma allocated the money to the SLFA woking comitte to restart the verrification process in the four regions of Sierra Leone.

The verification process is aimed at identifying the rightful SLFA stakeholders so that a legitimate body could then sit and discuss the way forward with regard issues of public concern.

“Our mission is to first tour the entire Sierra Leone to enlighten SLFA members about the mandate of the seven-man working committee with the relevant information they need and for them to allow the committee to do its work freely without any interference from the SLFA executive or from the stakeholders,” Hon. David Soriba said.

Hon. David Soriba said the verification programme is to commence in April through May 2016 after a lengthy research; brainstorming and consultations; especially so at a time when football in the country is dying and the people involved are in a serious fight over who to take the lead.

He said all though the money is not enough they are working in the interest of all Sierra Leoneans to see that football comes back to its beautiful days in 1994-1996, that was the then Sierra Leone national football team which qualified for the African Cup of Nations.

Football in the world is targeting the widest audience of youths, possibly as high as 30 % of who are educated while the vast majorities are uneducated youths.

The verification proves will last for a month show is with different segments that features issues burning around football in the country because as for now their no good things to talk about football in Sierra Leone.

Education, Health, Entertainment (music, movies, arts are making good progress but in sports is just about fighting each others.

Hon. David Soriba said he is pleased that the government had come and allocated this money and now the committee will start their work effectively and has give the full mandate to operate nationwide and work towards the interest of the country.

He said the football problem will not solve in the country if they could not identify the rightful SLFA members and owners of the various clubs and organize elective congress to get new executive.

He appeals to the football members and the Isha Johansen Executive to cooperate and give their full support to towards the work of the seven-man committee so that the committee would be effective and at the end achieve their goals.
