A State House press release says the primary school-leaving exams put off indefinitely will now take place on 28 May.

It comes after condemnations by the Bar Association and the National Children’s Commission.

Parents had also threatened to stage a protest march on Monday if a new date was not announced.

Govt had postponed the exams, slated for 7 May, in protest at the extension by two months of the mandate of the head of the West African Exams Council.
