Parliamentary sources have confirmed that the newly elected member of Parliament for Constituency 30 in the Bombali district, Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo will be formally sworn- in today in as a member of Parliament.
A senior Parliamentary source told the Global Times last night that, they have nothing against the Hon. Alhaji I.B. Kargbo since they have been formally informed by NEC (National Electoral Commission) that he won the bye-election in Constituency 30.
Hon. Alhaji I. B. Kargbo has had a turbulent week. He was on Monday invited by the CID for questioning over his involvement in plans by a Dutch waste dumping company to dump Lebanese waste in Sierra Leone.
Hon. Alhaji I. B. Kargbo said he did not have any criminal intent when he wrote a letter to a Dutch company in his capacity as Adviser to HE the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.
So far, He has not been charged with any criminal offence.
