In an unprecedented manner, Anti Corruption’s Commissioner, Ady Macauley, last year arrested and kept in smelly police cells the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association Isha Johansen, her Secretary General Chris Kamara, for what he says ‘was a pending corruption investigation against them.’

News about their arrests made headlines locally and internationally respectively. Of course, Sierra Leoneans curious about the outcome of a lousily talked about investigations, were having divided minds but settled at imbibing the ‘the wait and see’ conclusion.

Interviews conducted by this press indicate that many including the vulnerable of society are dissatisfied with the snail pace of the ACC investigations, and to a point have raised concerns as to what become of it in the future.

Most have asked whether Commissioner Macauley had rushed into action in arresting and detaining Isha Johansen because he wants people think he intends restore lost image of the ACC, or that he may have done so to make a name for himself even as he (Ady Macauley) at that time takes office as ACC’s new boss.

Others say: “the ACC under Commissioner Macauley can be functional only when his political god fathers dictate what he does.”

Whereas considerable number have said that Commissioner Macauley would have no time for the ‘big fish’ but the ‘small flies,’ of course, letting the hawks go free as he intentionally targets ‘petty corruption,’ and avoidably not pay attention to ‘grand corruption’ which targets the powerful of society.

Others are of the opinion that the ACC should be given the chance to carefully look into the SLFA matter, to enable them come out with a strong case against persons found culpable and not let it looks like a witch hunt on their part.

However, sources close to the ACC, have confirmed that the Commission is more or less at the finishing stage of the SLFA, WAFA and Ministry of Sports investigations and that they will soon inform the public on the outcome.

Other competent sources have also told the New Age that the SLFA President and her Secretary General have both been playing the hide and seek game with the ACC at almost every given time of an interview by investigators of the Commission.

They say Isha and Chris have had moments of time making excuses each time they are at the ACC for investigative interviews.

This, notwithstanding has ignited questions from football loving fans as to “when will such corruption investigations end?”

That even Commissioner Macauley who wildly had promised getting to the bottom of things vis-à-vis the SLFA/ Isha and Chris, WAFA/ Kanasieru and of course Ministry of Sports/Paul Kamara’s investigations, seem not showing the positives that persons once incarcerated in police cells may face prosecutorial actions.

The suspicion, people say, is that the god fathers (or call them remote machines of Commissioner Macauley) may have instructed that the matter be laid-on-file, or as the lawyers call it ‘sinedie’ till when the heavens will come on earth.
