A popular Lebanese man Ahmed Hashim situated at 51Hanga road in Kenema has been ramanded at the Kenema correctional centre in Kenema by magistrate Alhaji Sulaiman Koroma of the magistrate court in Kenema.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused who was stopped whilst riding without a protective crash helmet allegedly molested and assaulted a traffic police officer whilst on duty.
Philip Koroma reports that He was apprehended and taken to the Kenema police station where he was detained for a night and charged to court on two counts ranging from not using protective crash helmet and assault on police in Kenema.
It could be recalled that the Sierra Leone police east headed by the Assistant Inspector General of police east Alfred Karrow Kamara had on Monday 11 the July 2016 started enforcing the use of protective crash helmet by both the rider and pillion in Kenema city.
The matter was adjourned to the 14th July 2016.
