The Clerk of Parliament, Hon. Ibrahim Sesay has informed that the delay in interviewing six Presidential nominees last Monday was due to the absence of the House Majority and Minority Leaders from the country.
In an exclusive interview last night, Hon. Ibrahim Sesay confirmed that the House Majority Leader, Hon. Ibrahim Bundu had already arrived in the country. The Minority Leader, Hon. Bernadette Lahai was due to have arrived in the country last night.
“I have to say to you that, once all the members of the Committee on Appointments and the Public Service are in town we will meet and interview the Presidential nominees. A public notice to that effect will soon be put out for the nominees to appear before the committee,” he said.
Hon. Ibrahim Sesay noted that, since this is a holiday season (Easter Holiday) he was not sure that the interviews will take place before the end of this week. Tuesday March 29 is likely to be the date scheduled for the first batch of Presidential nominees to be interviewed.
