Former Police officer, Michael Jackson was on Thursday charged for allegedly penetrating a sixteen year old (16) boy who was under police custody at the Wilberforce Police Post.
The accused denied allegations of sexual penetration against him stating that he only penetrated through the legs of the victim adding that the act was not done through the victim’s anus.
According the statements, the accused on the 19th July, 2016 and 28th November 2015 sexually assaulted two boys below the age 18 at the said police post.
Testifying before the court, prosecuting witness Abdul Bangura informed the court that the 16 years old victim was brought to the said police post for the offence of fraudulent conversion during which the alleged incident occurred.
The witness furthered that during the course of investigations; the accused stole away the file with regards to the 16 years old and dismissed the victim from the cell.
In his testimony the witness also added that the accused also appealed that the matter be settled secretly and that he will take care of the victim’s medical.
Pointing out to the court that he was force to make certain statements during investigations and all the charges levied against him was out of malice by the witness, the magistrate ordered that the accused being remand at the Freetown Male Correctional centre until October 18th 2016.
In another matter, Magistrate Binneh Kamara denied granting bail to Phillis and Regina Stevens who are charge for conspiracy to commit felony and kidnapping a day old baby at the Connaught hospital in Freetown.
Objecting to the bail application made by defence lawyer, J M Tucker earlier, the prosecutor informed the court that the changes for which are charge with are serious and that the accused persons if granted bail may interfere with the witnesses.
According to the statements of offence, the two accused persons on 5th September conspired to kidnap a day old baby at the Connaught Hospital and were traced through a CCTV camera at the said hospital. The matter has being adjourned to 18th September 2016.
