The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Death and Destitute Organisation, Sinneh Kamara on Monday revealed to this medium that on March 30, 2016, his organisation buried 26 corpses in a mass grave at the Kingtom cemetery.
He called on the government and other well- meaning Sierra Leoneans to give support to his organisation, noting that “I use my personal resources to collect corpses around the city without any support from government,” he said.
A member of the same organisation, Beatrice Peterson also confirmed that the corpses were unidentified for over a month which they collected from various parts of the city including some parts of the western rural area.
She maintained that the organisation is not getting any support from government or any other organisation, adding that they are spending their own money to collect corpses around the capital.
Highlighting the challenges of the organisation, Beatrice Peterson said that their organisation lacks basic equipment to carry out their work effectively, further mentioning the lack of funds to pay their staff and look after some financial commitments as other key challenges.
