The Ministry of Agriculture has provided 100,000 hecters of land for a $60 million investment in poultry following Government’s thoughtfulness for the banning of the importation of chickens, eggs, and sausage.

They say the poultry investment will be producing about 700,000 to 750,000 chickens and 500,000 eggs on a daily basis.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security, Prof Monty Jones and management team from the Integration Solution Africa (ISA), as headed by Raphael Israel met with the people of Rorinka and Rolako in the Bombali District along the Lunsar-Makeni high way in charting a way forward for investment opportunities.

This came after an Israeli firm- Integrated Solutions Africa (ISA)-, a business set up by one Shraga Israel and Major Retired Igal Glovich, approached the government of Sierra Leone on developmental activities.

The idea, ISA’s head Rafael said, hinges on the company’s objectives in the bringing of experts to Sierra Leone on growth activities and the training of Sierra Leoneans as expert agriculturists in the future.

Rafael’s visit to the Sierra Leone Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Monte Jones, saw him agreeing with the minister on the inauguration of a massive fowl nurturing and onion growing projects, likely to see hundreds of Sierra Leoneans acquiring jobs for their livelihood.

The first face of the project will deal with a poultry farm that will be housing about five to seven thousand chickens, and in the future will double to about two million.

A training center will be constructed at the farm site for the training of Sierra Leoneans agriculturists too. Prof. Jones presented the company to the people and said operations will commence in September this year.

People of Bombali expressed happiness for such investment, as according to them, such has the inclination of providing jobs for people of Bombali and of Lunsar correspondingly.

The Chief of Manknebaner Section, Makarie Gbantie chiefdom assured the ISA Company and the Government of Sierra Leone of their support for such an investment.

It could be recalled that few weeks ago, Chickens imported from Brazil turned out to rotten ones thus resting in hundreds of city dwellers scavenging the bumeh dump site for at least a carton of the condemned chicken.
