One of many aspirants for the flag bearer position of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) has reckoned that his party was capable enough to take the country to a higher height than the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC).

Alpha Osman Timbo

Alpha Osman Timbo was speaking over the weekend in Rokulan, Sanda Tindaren Chiefdom in the Bombali district, where he announced to his intention to lead the SLPP in the 2018 presidential election.

According to lawyer Timbo, who served as Minister of Labour and Social Security during the Tejan Kabbah era, the party has better people than the APC to take the country to another level.

Although he admitted that the opposition party was bedeviled by problems inhibiting her quest to come back to power in 2018, the former trade unionist insisted that with him as the party’s frontrunner, he was convinced the party would return to State House.
