THE NATIONAL UNION OF SIERRA LEONE STUDENTS CALL ON STUDENTS OF FOURAH BAY COLLEGE TO RESTRAIN THEIR EMOTIONS.
Following the wave of protests over the legion of challenges with which students of Fourah Bay College are being forced to contend, the National Union of Sierra Leone Student, under the leadership of Mohamed Sheridan Kamara, have been bending over backwards to ameliorate the situation many believe to be intolerable.
We have already held series of meetings with members of the college administration, the affected students and other stakeholders; and the reality is that there are, variously expressed, immediate and remote challenges that bestride the path of the student populace.
Being a proactive and responsible union, we have already channelized this tidal wave of emerging challenges to the Chancellor of the University, His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma – a move that has resulted in the invitation of the leadership of this union to a meeting tomorrow at 11 am at State House with His Excellency the Chancellor, the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, members of Fourah Bay College administration and students’ leaders on campus.
In the face of the anxiety that darkened the times, we will continue to drum up support for students’ causes; and we are confident that this meeting will open an avenue for a triumph over the full multiplicity of challenges. Be rest assured that this leadership will communicate your grievances with unblinking effectuality.
Meanwhile, we call on colleagues to resist the temptation of falling for the diabolical hoax that is being peddled on the social media that students should assemble on campus for a procession to State House tomorrow to grace the proposed meeting. It is clear that such mischief has no basis on the press statement issued by State House, whose invitees do not go beyond the Minister of Education, representatives from NUSS, administrators from FBC and students’ leaders on campus – a category where the the tricksters peddling that falsity do not belong.
This union will be going there to represent your interest in full, and we will get you abreast with the upshot of the proposed meeting.
Long Live Students’ Unionism!!
Long Live NUSS!!

Public Relations Officer, NUSS.
