A second hand clothing (junks) trader, Alimamy Bangura of Dauda town has made his appearance in the magistrate court in Kenema before the presiding magistrate Alhaji Sulaiman Koroma on one count charge of sexual offence.
According to the particulars of offence the accused was charged on the offence of meeting a child for sexual purpose contrary to section 23 (1) (A) of the sexual offences Act no 12 of 2012.
The accused person on 6th June 2016 went on his usual business tour at Dauda town section to collect money within the Dauda town area. He saw a 9 years old class six pupil at the opposite house and he called her. There was nobody around, so he held the hand of the child and went with her behind the house into the toilet.
A man who spotted the scene from far distance came to the house but did not see the child, so he went behind the house and saw the accuse on the verge of penetrating the child. He was then arrested and taken to the nearest police post, and then to the Family Support Unit of the Kenema police division.
The matter is being prosecuted by 4938 Lawundeh Thomas of the Legal and Justice Support Department of the Kenema police division, and it was adjourned to 21st June 2016, the traders has record of similar character.
