Two accused persons, Tamba Sesay, aged 39 and Sara Koroma aged 23, both palm wine tappers of Maka village in Yawei Chiefdom in the Kailahun district have made their first appearance before Magistrate Alhaji Sulaiman Koroma charged with the offence of incest contrary to section 10 (1) of the Sexual Offences Act No. 12 of 2012.
According to the particulars of offence, the two accused persons sometimes in January 2015 at Maka village in Yawei Chiefdom, Kailahun district had sexual intercourse at diverse dates with a girl aged 15 who is and was to their knowledge their sister, while staying with her elder brother, Tamba Sesay at Maka village.
The 15 years old girl, a form one pupil, has since given birth to a baby boy but the child died later.
The girl is now requesting that she no longer wants to stay in that village and needs to attend another school elsewhere. No plea was taken and the matter was adjourned to 8th March 2016.
The matter is being prosecuted by Sergeant 4938 Lawundeh Thomas of the Legal and Justice Support department of the Kenema Police division.
