Popular Journalist and BBC Correspondent in Sierra Leone, Umaru Fofona, last Friday was elected the President of the Fourah Bay College Alumni Association.
Earlier before then, Umaru served as the Students’ Union President of the prestigious Sierra Leone University. His Election was coupled with Presence of Gloria Baryoh who emerged as the Vice President.
The alumni of the college include Professors, academic doctors, other senior lecturers and other professionals produced by the institution.

“Believe in yourself, with humility. Stand up for what is right, no matter the consequence! And stand up for others.”, Umaru wrote in his reaction on Facebook.
Other members of the executive includes: Secretary – Teddy Foday-Musa; Publicity & Diaspora Affairs – James Tamba Lebbie; Treasurer – Isha During; Auditor – Annie Lansana; IT – Louise Chaytor (Co-opted).
