The West African examination council (WAEC) in Sierra Leone has released the list of eligible candidates ahead of the 2016 WASSCE examination, Sierraloaded has gathered.

Reports says that the list distribution for all the regions will start today, 27th Monday 2016. Candidates are expected to be on the lookout for relevant information and updates about the examination.

Recall that there have been controversies over the conduct of the exam after the government canceled the primary school’s NPSE examination.

The cancelation had led to some dispute between the Sierra Leone government and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). Government spokesman Brima Michael Turay had said that the Ministry of Education is refusing to work with the leadership of the country office of the regional examination body, questioning the legitimacy of its current head.

Mr. Patrick Ndulu, head of WAEC Freetown, was on contract but according to sources his time had elapsed after reaching the retirement age.

While the discrepancies between both parties may be yet to be resolved, this latest report will ultimately ease the fears of secondary school students over the possibility of conducting the WASSCE examination this year.
